Artist statement
Howdy! I’m Brian Spayd, a Game Design major with a minor in Computer Science, driven by a passion for crafting immersive, unforgettable gaming experiences. I design games that blend dynamic mechanics, compelling narratives, and vibrant visuals to draw players into worlds that spark joy and wonder.
I’m skilled with industry-leading tools like Unreal Engine, Unity, and Godot, and I’m proficient in Python, C#, and some C++, giving me the ability to build polished, player-focused systems that feel seamless and engaging.
As a multidisciplinary creator, I’m capable across the full spectrum of game development: storytelling, 3D modeling, pixel art, sound design, and visual production, using tools such as Blender, Maya, Aseprite, Logic, and Adobe Creative Suite. This breadth enables me to infuse each project with creativity and technical precision.
In addition to my development work, I serve as a middle school computer science teacher, where I integrate my real-world expertise into the classroom to inspire future creators. I also coach esports, fostering teamwork, strategic thinking, and digital literacy among young competitors.
My mission is to craft games, and learning experiences, that entertain, inspire, and connect people. I’m constantly exploring new ways to push the boundaries of interactive media, aiming to create meaningful experiences that leave a lasting impact.
